When the Seattle Seahawks selected Jaxon Smith-Njigba, they expected him to be an instant impact player.

However, since the NFL Draft, the NFL media has picked up on just how good Smith-Njigba can be given Seattle's offensive system and the two stars he will be playing with in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

And according to ESPN, despite the hamstring injury in 2022, Smith-Njigba has the potential to be a "perfect fit" with Pete Carroll and the Seahawks' offense.

"Smith-Njigba has the versatility to play as a boundary or field receiver on the outside, but the fit here mainly points to slot alignments in the Seahawks' 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE) sets," ESPN writes. "Smith-Njigba can use his lateral quicks and route-running traits to uncover for quarterback Geno Smith, with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett playing outside. He can make an immediate impact on schemed concepts, isolation routes, and catch-and-run targets."

With the talent Smith-Njigba has, he will play off Metcalf and Lockett with a sense of ease as the slot receiver in the Seahawks' offensive sets.

"Smith-Njigba has the skill set to complement the Seahawks' veteran wideouts, and his arrival in Seattle boosts the passing game for Pete Carroll's team from a matchup perspective," ESPN writes.

The rookie minicamp begins May 12 and runs through May 14 for the Seahawks.

Smith-Njigba set the college football world on fire in 2021, breaking an Ohio State record for receiving yards in a season with 1,606. He now aims to do the same at the NFL level.
