The Indianapolis Colts are set to kickoff the 2023 NFL season against the Jacksonville Jaguars in an AFC South clash. It's the first of three divisional matchups that Indianapolis will play in the first five games of the schedule.

Without a doubt, that's a bad break. Especially with a first-year head coach and rookie signal caller running the show. Fortunately, the Colts caught a bit of a break in their game against the Jaguars.

That is because Jacksonville is expected to be without starting offensive tackle Cam Robinson for multiple games to begin the season. Per reports, Robinson violated the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Therefore, the Jaguars will be down one of their most important players to begin the year. Which means that the Colts will need to take advantage of that weakness and put pressure on quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence enjoyed a breakout season in 2022 and flashes big-time talent. However, Indianapolis should be able to get after him with Robinson out of the game. After all, Indianapolis made some moves to improve the pass rush this offseason.

That includes the Colts signing former San Francisco 49ers defensive end Samson Ebukam in free agency and selecting Northwestern defensive lineman Adetomiwa Adebawore in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville countered the potential suspension by drafting Oklahoma tackle Anton Harrison in the first-round last month. Still, it is difficult to trust a rookie in that spot right out of the gate.

The NFL season doesn't kickoff for four more months, but this is a storyline to pay attention to in the lead up to the Indianapolis Colts' schedule. Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley has to be licking his chops.
