Bears QB Justin Fields will love what his head coach said about his new teammate

If there is one thing that has been an issue for Justin Fields and his time in the NFL, it has been the lack of a true number one receiver.
Justin Fields went from throwing to Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave , Marvin Harrison Jr., and Emeka Egbuka to Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown, Chase Claypool, and Velus Jones Jr.
That's quite the difference in talent.
As we all know the Chicago Bears looked to rectify this situation this off-season with their acquisition of former Panthers star DJ Moore.
And that should make all the difference in the world when it comes to what Fields can do in the passing game in 2023.
"The first thing I would say is speed," head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters in the week when asked what stands out about Moore the most. "I mean, I just saw that. Yesterday I was like, 'Wow, there's a different gear, there.' That was exciting to see yesterday and today."
It definitely appears the Bears are interested in adding speed to their offense. They selected Velus Jones Jr last year, and his 40-yard dash time was 4.31. They also drafted Cincinnati wide receiver Tyler Scott in 2023, whose play would suggest a much faster 40 time than his actual testing, which was a 4.44.
The Bears have taken steps to protect Justin Fields as well, with the drafting of Darnell Wright with the 10th pick in the draft; and they have made an effort to get him better weapons for him to throw to.
Could this be the year they start to put it together? Only time will tell, but it's obvious the Bears are trying.
