The Denver Broncos' new head coach is getting some pretty crazy praise from his new quarterback.

The Broncos had to make some very needed changes at the end of last season, as they let rookie head coach Nathaniel Hackett go before the season was even over with. They should have maybe done it earlier, as the team played better under Jerry Rosburg, but hey, what do I know?

Now they have Sean Payton, who, by no means is a rookie at this job. He has a ton of experience, and actually has experience turning franchises around like he did with the New Orleans Saints, and like he will need to do with the Broncos.

The year before he got to town in New Orleans, the Saints were 3-13. In his very first season, they went 10-6 and lost in the conference championship game. Now, no one expects him to make that bit of a change in Denver right away, but everyone is expecting big things.

A big reason why is because he has done it all before. He has won a Super Bowl, and that's what the fans of the Broncos need back in Denver – a Lombardi trophy. The praise Russell Wilson gave him on Thursday certainly should make fans feel even better about the hire.

"Well, first of all, I think Sean's, one of the best coaches to have ever coached this game," Wilson told the media on Thursday. "He's intense, he's focused. He's such a great teacher of the game. And so all of us are learning every day, you know, more information, you know, just learning how to play the game the right way, how to practice at the highest level, that's what we're focused on right now. And, you know, it's an honor to obviously, you know, to put on the pads put on the jersey, and just get to do what I love to do.

I don't know if I would put Payton up there as one of the best, but he is a great coach nonetheless. Look at what the Saints are doing now without him. And even with him they only had four losing seasons out of 15 total. He also never lost more than seven games his entire time in New Orleans. So, yeah, he is a pretty good coach, but one of the greatest is a steep statement.

Can he end up being one of the greatest ever? Sure. Turning the Broncos around back into a respectable franchise would help him a ton.
