Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, now officially a member of the New York Jets, is looking quite comfortable in his new home.
Rodgers has been spotted at big playoff games for the New York Rangers and the New York Knicks and he looks like he's having the time of his life.
Not only is Rodgers loving the New York atmosphere, but he's already making some outrageous claims, too.
Rodgers told Pat McAfee this week that Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is similar to former Packers wide receiver Davante Adams.
Rodgers called Adams one of the best to ever do it before suggesting that Wilson is "pretty similar".
"Obviously Garrett, you know, he's a talented guy," Rodgers said Tuesday. "I threw him a pass today and just kind of turned and was like, 'Wow.' His ability to kind of get in and out of his breaks … there's another [No.] 17 I played with for a long time who does it better than anybody. The explosiveness in and out of breaks, the 17 here, is pretty similar."
Rodgers should probably slow down a bit on that comparison. Sure, Wilson had an incredible rookie season. But we've seen plenty of young wide receivers have quick starts to their careers only to struggle in the ensuing seasons (JuJu Smith-Schuster comes to mind). Suggesting that Adams is one of the best to ever do it and then comparing Adams to a second-year wide receiver seems almost disrespectful to the former Green Bay wide receiver.
It's probably a bit quick to suggest that Wilson is the same caliber player as a future Hall of Famer. But hey, that's just ARod being ARod.
