Former New England Patriots linebacker and current Tennessee Titans head coach has finally been voted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Vrabel won a fan vote against former Patriots left guard Logan Mankins and head coach Bill Parcells. The three were named finalists by the nomination committee last month.

Vrabel was the only one of the three to win a Super Bowl with the Patriots.

"It's my pleasure to announce Mike Vrabel as this year's selection to the Patriots Hall of Fame," Patriots owner Robert Kraft said. "Mike's leadership and versatility were principal to one of the most successful eras in franchise history, propelling the Patriots to three Super Bowl titles in four years and establishing multiple NFL records for consecutive-game win streaks. Many Patriots players have made contributions in all three phases of the game, but none more significantly than Mike. He was an eight-year starter on defense who also regularly contributed on special teams and is the only player in NFL history to score touchdowns on his first 10 career receptions, including touchdowns in back-to-back Super Bowl victories. He was respected for his football intellect and was destined to become a head coach in this league. I look forward to welcoming him back to New England, where his induction will preserve his legacy as one of the greatest players in franchise history."

Vrabel is the eighth player to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame as a three-time Super Bowl champion, joining Troy Brown, Tedy Bruschi, Kevin Faulk, Ty Law, Matt Light, Willie McGinest and Richard Seymour.

Vrabel will enter the Patriots Hall of Fame alongside retired offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia, who was named as a contributor by Kraft.

Vrabel has been the Titans’ head coach since 2018. He played on the Patriots from 2001 to 2008 before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. He rose up the coaching ranks quickly after retiring from the NFL following the 2010 season. He was a position coach at Ohio State from 2011 to 2013 and with the Houston Texans from 2014 to 2016. He spent one year as the Texans’ defensive coordinator in 2017 before being hired by the Titans.

Vrabel was a one-time All-Pro and one-time Pro Bowl selection with the Patriots in 2007, when he had 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, nine tackles for loss and 17 QB hits. He accumulated 48 sacks, 606 tackles, 13 forced fumbles, 34 pass deflections, 11 interceptions and 55 tackles for loss in eight seasons with New England. He also added eight sacks and three forced fumbles in 17 postseason games and caught 12 touchdown passes between the regular season and playoffs.

The date and time of Vrabel and Scarnecchia's induction will be announced at a later date.
