When it comes to contenders in the AFC, the Cincinnati Bengals are one of the first teams that come to mind. The reason that is so is because of a very talented roster that they have put together.

The Bengals' offense is star-studded with quarterback Joe Burrow and his excellent trio of wide receivers in Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd. Edge rushers Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard along with D.J. Reader and B.J. Hill on the interior give Cincinnati a good collection of players on the defensive line. Also, veteran safety Nick Scott gives the secondary some versatility along with Dax Hill.

In last week's NFL Draft, the Bengals simply replenished their roster with more promising players. According to Pro Football Focus, this haul of talent gives the Bengals a great shot to go far in the playoffs for the third consecutive season.

I loved the Bengals draft for where they are in their Super Bowl-contending window. They drafted a high-ceiling edge rusher in Myles Murphy who you might be worried about playing right away, but one who, in a rotation with the experienced edge rushers the Bengals already have, will play a role down the stretch. They picked up a potential starter in the secondary in DJ Turner after losing three starters in free agency. Plus, they drafted experienced college football players in Jordan Battle, Charlie Jones and Chase Brown in the middle rounds who can step in, if needed, and not look overwhelmed due to their high floors.

Murphy is in a perfect spot with Hendrickson and Hubbard in front of him on the depth. Unless he plays off the charts, he'll get to learn a lot as a rookie while also getting his reps here and there and gain experience.

Turner brings out-of-this-world speed (ran a 4.26 in the 40-yard dash) and elite coverage skills that will be on display early in Cincinnati. Battle joins Hill and Scott at safety, and his size and ability to cover the slot and give run support is a great tool for defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo to have on reserve.

Brown is a name to keep an eye on. With the uncertainty when it comes to running back Joe Mixon, Brown could have an opportunity to contribute more than he previously would, and his 4.43 speed can add another element to the Bengals' offense if need be.

If anyone thought Cincinnati was going anywhere, they're sadly mistaken. Whether it's starters or backups, they are loaded.
