Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons is one of the best in the world at what he does. his versatility is unique, and he is already an elite talent on the defensive line. He got paid as such during this offseason as well. That being said, Madden 24 ratings underrated the Titans star just a bit.
Simmons is the 7th-ranked interior defensive lineman with an 89 overall rating. He comes just behind Jonathan Allen (92) and Cameron Hayward (93). You could make a strong argument that Simmons should have been at least a 90 overall and above those players.
A rating of 93 probably would have made the most sense. He would be tied for fourth overall, alongside Quinnen Williams. Both Simmons and Williams are young cornerstone DL for their respective teams. Both have made legit strides in their development in the past two seasons, too.
It was a bit surprising to see Simmons not hit the 90 overall threshold after signing his extension during this offseason. Dexter Lawrence got similar money to Simmons, and he received a 94 overall rating for this year's game.
