Thursday is set to be a historic day for the NFL as owners are meeting in Minnesota to vote on Josh Harris' $6.05 billion bid to purchase the Washington Commanders. Consider it a safe bet that it will be approved.

In turn, that means the league is getting rid of toxic owner Dan Snyder, whose time running the franchise has seen all kinds of turmoil from fraud investigations to "sexual harassment, bullying, and other toxic conduct."

Snyder finally being out of the NFL is good news for the entire league and as other owners get ready for the sale to be made official today, Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones had some fun taking one last shot at his soon-to-be former rival.

"I think it's going to be a great day for the NFL," said Jones via NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Back in October of last year, ESPN reported that Snyder had claimed he had "dirt" on Jones. A couple of months later, the Cowboys' owner told USA Today that Snyder was "not the most beloved guy around" and admitted he wouldn't fall on the sword for him.

Jones is right, it is going to be a great day for the NFL. The Commanders wanted head coach Ron Rivera to change the team's culture, but there's no way he could've done that under Snyder's ownership. This sale changes everything.

Of course, Jones' days of fighting Snyder might have come to an end. But the Commanders aren't going anywhere and he knows it.

Per Pelissero, the Cowboys owner also said he looks forward to his team delivering "capital punishment" in Washington when both rivals square off in Week 18.
