Maxx Crosby on Brady playing for the Raiders: 'You never know what’s going to happen'
Though the NFL legend has repeatedly denied any allegation.
Maxx Crosby doesn't want to rule out the impossible.
Even when that impossible means Tom Brady, the newly-minted Las Vegas Raiders minority owner, coming out of his second retirement to play for the team.
"Yeah, the possibility (of Brady returning), obviously we got Jimmy G," Crosby said during an appearance on "The Voncast" program hosted by Buffalo Bills star Von Miller, as shared by Sam Neumann of the Comeback. "He’s coming back. He’s gonna be healthy. But you know, you never know what’s going to happen. Tom Brady’s a competitor. The greatest of all time. At the absolute worst, if everything doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to and we need him, I would not be surprised if Tom Brady shows up in a Raiders jersey."
Crosby's comments must be wishful thinking. Brady has repeatedly denied the idea of him coming back to play football again.
He has already admitted to playing more of a passive role with the Raiders. And starting in 2024, Brady plans to be Fox's lead NFL analyst.
Brady insisted throughout a media tour he completed earlier this spring he's committed to remaining retired, and he'd need the approval of NFL owners to play for the Raiders while also having an ownership stake in the team anyway.
So Brady being a playing member of the Raiders is a pipe dream. But it is one that Crosby still isn't willing to give up on.
