For the previous 12 seasons, the New Orleans Saints have had one constant, and that's edge rusher, Cam Jordan being a menace getting to the quarterback.

Jordan has racked up 115.5 sacks, been named an All-Pro three times, garnered eight Pro Bowl selections, and is a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

It's turned Jordan into Saints' royalty, and according to general manager Mickey Loomis, he'll get put in the team's Ring of Honor and the Pro Football Hall of Fame someday.

As the Saints wrapped up their mandatory minicamp on Thursday, Jordan reiterated his statement from a month ago about how he wants his final years in the NFL to play out.

"That's a huge blessing," said Jordan, via the team's website. "I want what I've always wanted, to be Black and Gold. I've said that plenty of times, whether I play 15 years or 16 years, I want to be here.

"I love the fact that we've been in this locker room for so long, and I've seen three locker room changes. I love the fact that whether we've had different defensive coordinators or a different defensive line, that I've still had success here and I see myself as a pseudo-New Orleanian. My kids are New Orleanians – they're straight 504 babies. They were all born over there at Touro. So New Orleans is home my way."

Jordan is coming off of another productive season. He logged his second-highest total in terms of tackles (66) and put up 8.5 sacks in 2022. It was the 11th consecutive season of at least 7.5 sacks for Jordan and he's also started every game for the Saints over that span (his only missed start came in his rookie campaign).

As he heads into his 13th year, Jordan is still as hungry as ever, and if anyone doubted that, he proved it by what he said regarding minicamp practice.

"I was fighting for reps today and I didn't get any," Jordan said on Thursday. "I get that it's minicamp, but I don't get it. I want them all. If I don't want them all, I don't know what that means for me. Every time we take the field there's opportunities there, and I want every opportunity."

Jordan is an alpha dog, so that want to be great is just in him, and that type of mindset is infectious.
