RB Dalvin Cook

The Buffalo Bills, once again, are linked to a top player on the market.

In a stunning turn of events, the Minnesota Vikings announced Dalvin Cook was set to be released. While the team is still reportedly looking for a trade partner, if that can't get done Cook will be able to walk free and select his upcoming team.

Teaming up with his brother, James Cook, would be a dream come true for RB Dalvin Cook. Buffalo and Miami are among the top landing spots for the talented running back.

Cook has been a dominant force in the NFL since his arrival and is truly a difference-maker on the gridiron. Cook has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in each of the last four seasons with 43 touchdowns on the ground in that span. The four-time Pro Bowler will undoubtedly have suitors on the open market.

For all intents and purposes, it seems as though Cook may be heading to the AFC East one way or another. Courtesy of BetOnline, Buffalo has the third highest odds to get Cook with 5/1. The teams before Buffalo are the Miami Dolphins at 1/1 odds and the New York Jets at 5/2.

Not only that, Conor Orr from SI.com highlighted the 10 best landing spots for the talented running back. The Buffalo Bills barely squeaked out the top 10. The list, respectively, had the Dolphins, Jets, Cowboys, Eagles, Browns, Ravens, Giants, Bengals, Panthers, and Bills. Orr highlighted why Buffalo snuck in.

The Bills drafted Dalvin’s brother, James, in the second round of the 2022 draft. Perhaps Dalvin would be an immediate insurance policy and a guiding force for James. The Bills have a smattering of different style backs behind James Cook, like Nyheim Hines and Latavius Murray. Dalvin Cook could represent a bit of an upgrade over Murray, and he could help mold James into a future 1,000-yard back. The Bills have become a destination of late for aging stars hoping to cling onto their fast-closing Super Bowl windows.

The Bills Mafia, mostly, voiced their opposition to Brandon Beane picking up Dalvin Cook. He's most likely going to be far too expensive and the team already has a crowded RB room. While Cook is another weapon for Josh Allen, maybe the team doesn't need another RB to add to the mix.

A Cook/Cook backfield would be exciting, though. One thing is for sure, if Brandon Beane thinks Dalvin can make an impact, he's at least going to kick the tires.
