Three Jaguars team records that could be broken in 2023

The 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars enter the season with high expectations, the highest they've certainly had since their Cinderella run to the AFC Championship game in 2018.
A large portion of those hopes are tied to a Jacksonville offense that came to life and peaked in the second half of the 2022 season and the playoffs. In his first year with Doug Pederson and Press Taylor, Trevor Lawrence pulled a complete 180 from his 2021 rookie season under Urban Meyer and played like one of the better QBs in the league as the Jaguars turned a 3-7 record into a 9-8 mark and an AFC South title.
Entering year three for Lawrence, the sky could be the limit for the Jaguars' offense this fall. And, as a result, there are a few Jaguars single-season team records within reach.
Passing yardage
The Jacksonville passing game should be one of the team's strengths this season. Yes, there are some question marks at tackle after Cam Robinson's suspension, but if Walker Little – who started both Jaguars' playoff games last year – can hold his own at left tackle in the interim, the team should be fine.
Upright, Lawrence should absolutely be able to take down Blake Bortles' 2015 record of 4428 passing yards. He came within striking distance last season with 4113 yards. That includes a stretch in October where Lawrence threw for less than 175 yards in three games.
Add in a true WR1 in Calvin Ridley, and Bortles' record is very much in jeopardy of being topped this fall.
Tight end receiving yards
This one's easy enough, since the current leader – Evan Engram – set the mark last season with 766 receiving yards, breaking Kyle Brady's 729 yards from 2000. His 73 catches was also a franchise best for tight ends. However, with Ridley in the game plan, it's not as likely that he'll reach the reception mark as he will the receiving yards total.
Teams will likely have to game plan for Ridley, which means there will be more opportunities in the middle of the field for Engram. Perhaps less catches, but also perhaps more room to run with defenses stretched by Ridley, Christian Kirk, and Zay Jones.
Scoring
Again, this is one that was pretty close last year, as Riley Patterson totaled 126 points, which was good for third on the list. Mike Hollis holds the top two spots with 134 points in 1997 and 130 in 1999.
Patterson was traded to Detroit and Brandon McManus was signed as his successor. McManus provides more of a threat from 40+ yards, having made all 10 kicks last season from 40-49 yards and leading the NFL in total kicks made from 50+ yards during the span of his career.
If Jacksonville's offense is lives up anywhere near the hype it's getting this offseason, McManus could see his name at the top of the team's scoring list in January 2024.
