Getting back to the Super Bowl will be hard enough for the Philadelphia Eagles.
And to get there, the Eagles will require one unit to step up.
Recently, ESPN ranked NFL rosters heading into the 2023 season. On the rankings, ESPN predicted what unit would be the strongest for the Eagles heading into the 2023 season. Their decision comes as no surprise — the offensive line.
Let's take a look at what ESPN had to say about the offensive line that has helped carry the Eagles in recent seasons:
"Four starters return, with Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson forming an elite duo at tackle, Jason Kelce back for one more season at the pivot, and Landon Dickerson locked in at left guard. Isaac Seumalo was the only offseason departure, but GM Howie Roseman was ready, having selected Cam Jurgens (Kelce's eventual replacement) in the second round of the 2022 draft."
Behind the brick wall that is the Eagles' offensive line was a rock-solid running game. And in the offseason, Philadelphia lost Miles Sanders but added D'Andre Swift and Rashaad Penny. With the continuity on the offensive line, it is clear that Philadelphia feels it can get back to the Super Bowl using its running game and wearing out opposing teams in the trenches.
