If you haven't yet heard, another Tennessee Titans’ player found himself in the headlines for the wrong reason recently.
Just a few days after the annoucement that starting tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere would be suspended for the first six games of the 2023 season, it was revealed that backup running back Hassan Haskins was arrested on felony assault charges.
This is an unfortunate series of events for a head coach that preaches accountability and team-first mentality.
The Haskins arrest is the latest in a string of troubles that have enveloped the Tennesee Titans.
Way back in 2019, star tackle Taylor Lewan was suspended for failing a drug test. At the time, Vrabel explained that he "is not in the business of avoiding distractions, just dealing with them," sounding noticeably frustrated.
Next, we go back to the 2020 NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans selected offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson with the No. 29 pick in the draft. Wilson immediately showed several warning signs by being suspended for violating team rules and being arrested twice within a year of being drafted. Wilson was traded after just one season.
Then, prized free agent addition Bud Dupree was arrested and charged with assault after a fight at a convenience store.
Finally, we have the events of last week. A starting offensive linemen was suspended for gambling on team property and a running back was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.
One has to wonder what is going on inside the Titans' locker room. While Vrabel often talks about not making mistakes that hurt the team, his players continue to do exactly that. In addition to off-field troubles, the Titans were tied with the third-most penalties in 2022.
Clearly Vrabel's message is not getting through to some inside of Saint Thomas Sports Park.
