The Seattle Seahawks aren't exactly a secret heading into the 2023 NFL season.
And Louis Reddick, an NFL analyst at ESPN, believes that the team, now retooled, has a chance to shock everyone in the NFC.
"This team has a young offensive line with two new stud book-end offensive tackles," Reddick said. "They've got speed versatility at wide receiver. They've got an absolute stable of running backs now with with Kenneth Walker III and Zach. On defense, they've got, arguably a guy who could have been a guy who could have been the defensive rookie of the year last year… They got players, man.
"This is their year. Seattle is that team. It is that team this year that can surprise everyone in the NFC. Period."
Seattle had an effective offseason. In many ways, the team addressed its critical gaps. It added to positions of strength. And, most importantly, it found a formidable No. 3 wide receiver for Geno Smith to sling the ball to.
Many in the media are predicting that Jaxon Smith-Njigba has a real opportunity to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
With all the moves made, and Seattle still feeling like it has one or two moves still stored up its sleeve, the decision to pick the Seahawks as the surprise team in the NFC is a no-brainer.
Last year, Reddick guessed right on Seattle being a Wild Card team. Now, he is thinking that the Seahawks have a real shot at winning the division.
It wouldn't be a surprise if that prediction comes true.
Seattle Seahawks advised to make a move for Pro Bowl LB Jaylon Smith
Following a productive offseason, there are still a few areas the Seattle Seahawks need to improve on ahead of training camp at the end of July.
