On June 28, DeVante Parker signed a three-year contract extension worth up to $33 million with the New England Patriots, a source confirmed to A to Z Sports

Now, more details have emerged regarding the restructured deal, which could mean good things in the Patriots potential pursuit of one free agent receiver.

ESPN's Field Yates reports that Parker's 3-year, $33 million max deal includes $4.9M in incentives annually ($14.7M max), with $400K in per game roster bonuses annually ($1.2M max) and fully guaranteed salaries in 2023 and 2024.

The contract extension also creates about $2.4M in 2023 cap space.

While it was reported that Parkers deal did not appear to be related to the team's pursuit of Hopkins, it does solidify Parker's spot with the 6-foot-3, 219-pound wideout being looked at as a cut candidate if New England adds Hopkins.

Now it seems Kendrick Bourne leads that list, with the Patriots able to free up over $5.4 million if they were to trade or cut the receiver.

Parker was traded to the Patriots last season from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a third-round and fifth-round pick. He finished his first season in New England catching 31 passes for 539 yards with three touchdowns in 13 games.

Across his eight-season career, Parker has 369 catches for 5,255 yards with 27 touchdowns in 106 games.

Along with Parker's deal, the Patriots and linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley also agreed to a contract extension. It was then reported that Bentley's deal will also "clear more money on the Patriots 2023 salary cap."

Prior to the two extensions, the Patriots ranked 15th in the NFL with $14,025,985, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Hopkins has had visits with the Patriots and Titans, with New England appearing as the most likely to land the star receiver. Yet, the Pro Bowler is expected to hold off until training camp to make his final decision about where he will land.

Let's see if all the new deals work out in the Patriots favor.
