The 2023 NFL season hasn't even started yet, but that doesn't mean one can't begin to think ahead.

On Thursday, ESPN Analyst Jordan Reid released his "early first-round predictions" for the 2024 NFL Draft and his choice for the New England Patriots is one that would add an additional weapon for Mac Jones.

The Patriots currently have the 12th overall pick and Reid has them selecting Brock Bowers, a tight end from Georgia.

"Quarterback Mac Jones is in desperate need of pass-catching options, and Bowers would be a dynamic target. He is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound game-changer who is physical at the catch point," Reid wrote. "Bowers is also a run-and-catch threat, privy to turning short catches into explosive scoring plays. He led all tight ends in receiving yards (942) and yards after the catch (523) last season, and he has the ability to unlock another dimension of the playbook for any NFL offense."

Reid also pointed out that Hunter Henry is entering the final season of his three-year, $37.5 million contract, while Mike Gesicki is only on a one-year deal.

If the Patriots don't bring back either of the veteran tight ends, they will be in desperate need of a strong player to fill that position and Bowers fits the bill.

In his two seasons with Georgia, Bowers has 119 receptions for 1,824 yards and 20 touchdowns.

So let's see what happens when the 2024 NFL Draft rolls around.
