The New Orleans Saints were very active during the early part of the offseason as they got their salary cap woes corrected and added an abundance of new faces.

One area the Saints did work in was at wide receiver. In addition to getting the contract of Michael Thomas reworked, New Orleans brought in veteran Bryan Edwards and drafted A.T. Perry in the sixth round.

Speaking of Perry, he was recently named the best offseason move for the Saints.

"Perry entered the draft with a third-round grade, so New Orleans did well to select him in the middle of Day 3. He has a huge frame with a 6-foot-10 wingspan and earned grades over 82.0 in each of his last two seasons at Wake Forest. While he's not a polished route-runner at this stage, his added presence as a big deep threat could add an extra level of dynamism to an already young and loaded receiving corp."-Josh Liskiewitz, PFF

New Orleans is certainly stacked with young receivers with Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and now Perry. However, PFF didn't get this one right.

All the talent at wide receiver in the world doesn't matter if a team doesn't have the right quarterback to get them the football. Last season, the Saints didn't get stellar play from Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton playing quarterback, and that's why New Orleans signed four-time Pro Bowler Derek Carr.

That is easily the best move the Saints made this offseason. He may not be Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow, but Carr brings experienced and stability to the quarterback position that simply hasn't been present in New Orleans since the retirement of future Hall of Famer Drew Brees.

Salute to Perry, he has a shot to be a good player. However, the Saints finding their franchise quarterback was much more important.
