Being a medium is something Chris Jones should consider after life as the Chiefs' most dominant defensive player. He is amazing at his job – getting to the quarterback and making their life difficult has suited him well since wearing the red and gold.

But, there is one thing that he has done before that I think most Chiefs fans have noticed, and if he does it again, we will have no choice but to believe he is a sidekick.

After they lost to the New England Patriots in February of 2019 in the AFC Championship, Jones went to Twitter to say "We will win it next year."

And, they did.

They ended up beating the San Francisco 49ers in Miami as we all know. Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to three straight double-digit comebacks in the playoffs that year and ended up winning the Super Bowl MVP.

Chris Jones was a sidekick.

Now, this offseason he seems to have done it again. But this time, it wasn't with the Super Bowl. He already has two of those. I mean, sure, who wouldn't want to win more of them? But, he chose to predict something else this time.

"I'm going to Win MVP."

The Chiefs have just two MVP winners over their entire history, per Pro Football Reference. Both of those are Patrick Mahomes. So, Chris Jones would be the second Chiefs player ever to win it, and the first defensive player since Lawrence Taylor in 1986, who is probably the greatest defensive player ever.

It can be done, but it won't be easy. Last year was a career year for Jones as he finished third in Defensive Player of the Year. Next year we can only assume he will be better.
