The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are about to have their hands very full if Devin White puts his feet down on his recent trade request.

This move comes as a bit of a surprise based on the history between these two parties, and while the Bucs have made it clear that they don't want to trade one of their defensive captains, moves happen fast in the modern NFL.

Tampa needs to start preparing for a future without Devin White. The good news is that there are options on the market and the future isn't as bleak as it seems.

The Bucs aren't winning the Super Bowl in 2023. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble. This year is about clearing up cap space and compiling future assets, and getting anything for White is a step in the right direction for Tampa.

The weird part about this whole situation is that the Bucs can actually get better linebacker play out of cheaper free agents, so they can still focus on winning without sacrificing the ability to clear up some space for the future.

Here is who they can give some thought to on one-year deals as they prepare for the fallout of such a move.

1. Deion Jones

Deion Jones should probably be at the top of the list for the Bucs.

A quiet season with the Browns with just five starts has cooled off interest in the veteran, but Jones has been able to prove over a career that he is a massive improvement over Devin White in coverage.

An off-ball linebacker that is 28 with 12 career interceptions that is going to cost left than half as much as Devin White in 2023 is worth looking at, especially when you're talking about pairing him with Lavonte David.

2. Myles Jack

Myles Jack is another option that has been good over the entirety of his career but was just okay in his most recent season with a new team.

Jack isn't the stat machine that Devin White is, but he is more deliberate with his game and runs less of a risk of running himself out of position.

This would be a quality low-risk, low-investment, minimal reward option for the Bucs, and that is really all this defense needs out of that position.

3. Kyle Van Noy

Van Noy is a bit of a different direction for the Bucs. Rather than Jack and Jones, Van Noy has been quite productive over the past few years, especially in the sack department (16.0 in the last three years).

The veteran backer has experience doing a bit of everything on the defensive side of the ball, and his production at rushing the passer over the past few seasons points to a guy that could do Devin White's job well while also bringing an added element in coverage.

Van Noy won't be nearly as costly as Devin White, but his numbers in recent years could make him a bit more pricey than the other names on this list.

One way or another, it doesn't matter who the Buccaneers pick as long as they are planning for the future.
