One of the key positions the Dallas Cowboys need to address in the NFL draft is running back.

Luckily for Dallas, this year's class is loaded with options so the Cowboys don't have to snag a running back too early. With that said, Pro Football Focus feels UCLA's Zach Charbonnet is a Day 2 fit for the Cowboys, which could mean in the second round.

If the Cowboys want a bell-cow type outside of Round 1 who can replace what Ezekiel Elliott brought to the table the past few years, Charbonnet is the man to do it.

Charbonnet started his career at Michigan, playing there in 2019 and 2020. He ran for 850 yards and 12 touchdowns in Ann Arbor, but he decided to transfer in January 2021.

That brought Charbonnet to Los Angeles to play for the Bruins, and the California native took full advantage of being back in his home state. Charbonnet earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors as a junior with 1,137 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns and added another 227 yards receiving.

Last season Charbonnet earned first-team All-Pac-12 and first-team All-American honors as he picked up 1,359 rushing yards with 13 touchdowns and had 232 receiving yards as well.

Charbonnet has good speed (ran a 4.53 in the 40-yard dash) and good size at 6'0"/214 pounds. He posted a 37-inch vertical jump and a 10'2" in the broad jump. His running style is a mix of speed and power and he also does a good job breaking tackles.

Charbonnet may not be the first name mentioned when it comes to running backs, but he is certainly a nice option for the Cowboys if he's available, and he could be a nice complement to Tony Pollard.
