Dre'Mont Jones says Seahawks have earned a reputation in the NFL

The New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars are probably the best examples of both ends of the spectrum. The Patriots have tasted ultimate success and are labeled one of the most successful franchises of all-time and the Jags, well, let's just say they aren't held as nearly as high in the same regard.
The Seattle Seahawks, while not as successful as the Patriots, are certainly known for winning. The Seahawks have the fifth-best winning percentage (.612%) since Pete Carroll took over in 2010 and the franchise is tied for the fourth-best point differential over that span, as well.
And sure enough, the Seahawks' success has earned them a pretty sweet reputation around the league.
"A hard-nosed, hardhat type of team," prized free agent addition Dre'Mont Jones told reporters Monday. "They are definitely more on the lax side as opposed to being stuck up or military style, which is definitely good because this program has won a lot of football games and has been super successful for many years.
"As long as I have been alive and as long as I have been watching football, definitely, this has been a good program. Pete Carroll has been a hell of a coach for as long I remember, even back in his college days, so I am looking forward to experiencing that.”
Jones' comments are a testament to what John Schneider and Carroll have built over the last 13 seasons. What's most impressive, however, is the Seahawks' consistency over that span. They even managed to keep the train rolling last year with Geno Smith and their future prospects look as bright as ever thanks to the bounty of draft picks they received in the Russell Wilson trade.
It's clear Carroll has established a unique culture, too, based off Jones' description of a lax team. That's been well-known by those who've followed the team over the years, but it's still nice to hear the outside perception fall in line.
And the best part of all this is it's safe to say more players will be saying the same things about the Seahawks in the years to come.
