When you're a player for the Dallas Cowboys all eyes are on you at all times, and someone always has something to say.
That's exactly what happened on Thursday on ESPN's Get Up.
A list of the five quarterbacks who are on the hot seat to win a Super Bowl was displayed on the show, and Dak Prescott was in the No.2 slot after Aaron Rodgers and above Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson.
Well, three-time Super Bowl champion, Tedy Bruschi, had an issue with Prescott being mentioned and made a rather disrespectful statement.
Well, okay, Bruschi.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but Bruschi is wrong here.
The Cowboys are the most valuable sports team in the world and the biggest cash cow for the NFL. So, that alone brings plenty of expectations for the team, and specifically, the star quarterback.
Dallas hasn't advanced to an NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season which was when they won their last title. That's nearly a 30-year drought, and for a franchise with five Lombardi trophies, it's simply not good enough and adds a ton of pressure to win.
Then there's Prescott and what he's done in his career.
Prescott won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2016 and set records for passer rating (104.9) and completion percentage as well (67.8). However, despite winning a lot of games as a starter, Prescott has only led the Cowboys to two playoff wins in his first seven seasons, and although they were against Russell Wilson in his prime and the recently retired Tom Brady, it just doesn't cut it in Dallas.
What makes it even more challenging for Prescott is what happened in last season's playoffs.
Prescott didn't play well and threw two interceptions in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers after leading the league with 15 during the regular season. So, there's a sour taste in Prescott's and everyone's mouth with his performance, and even more pressure on him as a result.
Despite what Bruschi said, Prescott is without question one of the select few players at his position that's on the hot seat to win a Super Bowl.
