Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott have completely turned the franchise around.

Since their arrival, things have been completely different in Buffalo. Bills Mafia remembers all too well the playoff drought the team had faced previously. In fact, it was the longest drought in any major sport at the time.

In just a few years, McDermott and Beane took a team desperate for a playoff appearance to Super Bowl favorites. The culture shift and championship-caliber mentality have bled throughout the locker room and have been a big reason for the organization's success.

It appears that the world feels the same, or at least the NFL. In their latest power rankings, specifically for general managers, Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott got their flowers.

Gregg Rosenthal from NFL.com ranked all NFL general managers across the league. Surprisingly, Rosenthal lumped together McDermott and Beane in his power rankings. The Buffalo duo ranked 4th on his list, Rosenthal discussed that the team's inability to make it to the Super Bowl doesn't lay on the shoulders of McDermott and Beane, but rather "randomness" and "injuries."

In his article, Rosenthal elaborated, "I don't put the Bills' inability to get over the hump on the front office. Rather, I blame it on randomness (2020 and '21) and injuries (2022). That said, the team might need to revisit the relative lack of weight that is put into offensive resources compared with McDermott's defense. A solid D can only take you so far in this era, and the team's shortcomings on the offensive line and skill positions around Josh Allen showed up in 2022."

Furthering his sentiment for the above-average job McDermott and Beane have done, Rosenthal discussed what Buffalo needs to do moving forward: nail the draft.

"The Bills have built and maintained a superpower over the last six years since Beane was hired, but their best work was done in the building stages."

Rosenthal argued that Beane and McDermott have done a phenomenal job in setting the foundation for the team's future, but haven't been able to hit in subsequent years as frequently.

Drafting is an art form and a difficult one at that. If Beane and McDermott can nail the draft this season and help get Buffalo over the hump, it wouldn't be shocking to see them at the top of the list next season.

The future, as it has been since McDermott and Beane's arrival, is bright.
