The Kansas City Chiefs run a pretty tight-knitted group when it comes to their players, staff, and relationships all of them have together. Most teams have the saying "Once a *enter team name here* always a *team name here*."

But with the Chiefs, it's kind of actually like that. Mecole Hardman, a former Chiefs player from 2019-2022, is a guy that had it rough in Kansas City, but the fans will always love him.

Early in his career, he had ball security issues, mainly in kick and punt returns. Later in his tenure with the Chiefs, he became an actual threat in the passing game, and the running game running jet sweeps and end-around plays.

Now, he is on the New York Jets on a one-year prove-it deal after suffering an injury with the Chiefs. Obviously, we all wish him the best, but it's on to the 2023 season.

He still though, defended one of his former teammates during a Twitter discussion.

One Twitter account posted the betting odd for players to win the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award and Chris Jones was nowhere to be found out of 10 players. It's almost like he wasn't a finalist for the award last season.

Mecole Hardman tagged Chris Jones and said that it's crazy he isn't on the list and doesn't have odds. Jones replied to the tweet with "2x Super Bowl Champion" with the flip-off emoji.

It's great to see Hardman, now a former Chiefs player, going to bat for Jones, even when one of his new teammates Quinnen Williams is on the list.

Once a Chief always a Chief.
