The Kansas City Chiefs are bound to be in familiar territory for the 2023 season that it feels like they are in almost every year, and it may make Chiefs fans mad at the NFL, honestly.

The Chiefs haven't had anything easy, even when they have won their two Super Bowls in the last four years, it was still hard. Most remember the Chiefs' 2019 Super Bowl run, where they were down by at least 10 points in every playoff game, including the Super Bowl, yet they won every game.

It seems like every year they play the best teams. Or maybe it's just that they know they will get every team's best because they are the Chiefs.

Sam Hoppen on Twitter did a deep dive on the 2023 teams and who may have the hardest strength of schedule based on their opponents' projected win totals. It turns out the Chiefs have the third highest, or hardest I should say, the strength of schedule in 2023.

They are scheduled to play the NFC North and the AFC East in 2023, two of which are great divisions, but especially the East. Of course, they also play in one of the toughest divisions in the AFC West, which it feels is competitive every year, even last year when the Chiefs went undefeated in the division.

Their home schedule is the Raiders, Broncos, Chargers, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Their away games will be against the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Green Bay Packers, and the Minnesota Vikings.

Those are some really good teams, and some teams that had some success last year. If you factor in records, only the Broncos, Raiders, Bears, Patriots, and Packers had a losing season, and the last two on that list were one game away from being even on the year.

According to Warren Sharp, the Chiefs had the hardest schedule in 2022, and 2023 isn't looking like it will be easy either. This is nothing new to Chiefs fans, which is why they should be upset with the NFL. It seems like they continue to give the Chiefs a tough schedule every year.
