Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wants to bring back Poona Ford on a team-friendly deal
Seattle Seahawks want to bring back Poona Ford on a team-friendly contract, at least Pete Carroll indicated so recently.
In typical Seattle Seahawks fashion, the organization wants to bring back Poona Ford on a team-friendly deal.
It's no first-time affair regarding the Seahawks and Ford. With the lack of market for Ford's services, Seattle, according to Pete Carroll, has been working behind the scenes to bring him back.
“Would love to have him back," Carroll said. "Need him to come back. We’re actively involved with that.”
Ford is 27 years old. He started the offseason at #94 on some Top Free Agent lists, and now is ranked 13th on NFL trade rumors and the third-best remaining FA on NFL.com.
Ford returning, like many of the other moves thus far, removes pressure from the upcoming NFL Draft. The Jalen Carter sweepstakes have now turned into a question mark, and one thing John Schneider and any other general manager hates is having to make selections they don't love in the draft. Carroll’s remarks would indicate the team’s desire to see a reunion with Ford at a position in which he has previously played well.
Ford's return makes sense. Seattle would solidify one last roster spot without having to worry about rookie production at a critical position.
