The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of a Super Bowl-winning season, again, and would like to try and defend that title better than they did in 2020.
I mean, they defended it well that year, but not good enough, as they fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers big time. They made some moves this offseason that they feel will help them get right back into the championship form.
The Chiefs' roster has kind of evened out to what it was last year. They have made some moves, good ones too, but also lost some guys, good ones too.
They added a better pass rusher in Charles Omenihu than what they had in Frank Clark. Then they subbed out Juan Thornhill for Mike Edwards and Drue Tranquill. They lost Orlando Brown Jr. and added Jawaan Taylor. They lost Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster and have yet to add to the wide receiver room.
After free agency and before the draft the Chiefs have pretty high odds to make the playoffs again, but they don't have the highest.
According to BetOnline.Ag, the Chiefs have -350 (2/7) odds to make the postseason, which is a 77.8% chance. That is the second highest after the San Francisco 49ers, who have a 6% chance higher to make the postseason.
I get why, I really do, but at the same time, the Chiefs are defending champions, they play in the AFC West, a division they went 6-0 against. To make the playoffs, all you have to do is win your division, and I think the Chiefs will do that again.
They may not go undefeated against them again, but I have a ton of faith they will win the division, especially when you look at all the other moves the other teams in the AFC West have made.
The Chiefs will make the playoffs, unless something crazy happens.
