The Seattle Seahawks are still trying to find a solid third wide receiver after years of trying.

Seattle knows what it has in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, but the organization is waiting on 2021 NFL Draft selection Dee Eskridge to finally be a productive player at the NFL level.

Out of Western Michigan, Eskridge has oodles of potential, but he has struggled to put together a consistently good season at the NFL level. And recently, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll opened up about the receiver, admitting he has a lot of work to do until he can be an every Sunday player.

"This is that 3rd year and he has some work to do," Carroll said.

Eskridge has managed just 17 catches, 122 yards, and one touchdown heading into his third year in the NFL.

There is a chance that he could still be part of the team's future, but if he doesn't show anything soon, Eskridge could be done for. The Seahawks are expected to use at least one of their 10 picks on a wide receiver prospect in the draft. History suggests that the organization tends to use those wide receiver selections on Day 2.

But if there's no improvement in Eskridge at all, a second contract with the team is extremely unlikely. As things are now, a second contract feels more distant than immediate.
