We are officially at draft week for the NFL. Accordingly, expect a plethora of mock drafts to rain down on social media over the next three days. Thursday is sure to be interesting, and the New York Giants remain an interesting team to watch during the first round.
In his latest mock draft from NFL.com, Chad Reuter gave the Giants Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt at pick 29.

The explanation at its basis makes sense for the Giants. Hyatt is a different type of receiver, and New York could use a field stretcher. That being said, Hyatt is not a first-round prospect.
Actually, in my opinion, he isn't even the best WR prospect that is coming out of Tennessee this year. That nod would go to Vols wideout Cedric Tillman. Hyatt was ultra-productive in his final season in Knoxville, but his skillset does not always transition well to the pros.
His technique against press coverage was lackluster, and his separation skills are a bit unproven due to his scheme with the Vols. His route tree is limited, and his frame is slender for the NFL level. Hyatt lacks twitch that many teams are looking for right now at WR.
As for the Giants, Hyatt would be much better value in the second or third round. That being said, he probably won't make it to their selection. In this scenario, the Giants should have gone with a cornerback like Maryland's Deonte Banks or Mississippi State's Emmanuel Forbes and waited on wideout.
