The New York Giants have a tall task ahead of them in this year's NFL Draft. Fresh off a surprisingly impressive campaign that saw them win a playoff game this past year, the expectations have heightened for the organization.

Accordingly, this year's draft class will have a magnifying glass on it. The Giants can go in a lot of different directions with the 25th overall pick. One route could be a trade – up or down, depending on the board. Recent history says that a trade is very likely, actually.

Oddly enough, the 25th overall selection has been traded in six consecutive drafts.

Of course, this doesn't directly impact what the Giants do with this pick. That being said, it is definitely intriguing. The Giants will have to decide how they want to attack their first round based on their evaluations.

If we see a run on wide receivers or cornerbacks begin, New York may try to jump up to select on of their top guys. If not, it is possible that that they stay put. On the flip-side, if a handful of their top prospects fall to them, then they could choose to trade back into the latest part of the first round or even the start of the second round.

A team in the early portion of the second round may want to jump back into the first to secure the possibility of other first-year option on a particular prospect. We've seen that happen before in past drafts as well. Regardless, the Giants will be a team to watch on Thursday night when it comes to wheeling and dealing.
