The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in CeeDee Lamb. After being anointed the WR1 in Dallas after Amari Cooper’s departure, Lamb was named to his second Pro Bowl in 2022 and received a second-team All-Pro nod.

One thing about Lamb, he's never been one to get complacent. After his rookie campaign in 2020 when he barely missed 1,000 yards, Lamb worked with trainer Delfonte Diamond on his quickness off of the line of scrimmage and using his hands to assist in getting open.

Lamb is back at it again as he prepares for his fourth NFL campaign. He is currently working with Nick Hicks who is the Co-Owner and Director of Performance at the PER4ORM training facility.

The former first-round pick is taking his game to a different level this time around by working on a completely different aspect.

“I’m trying to get that open field work like you do with RBs bro, not just routes," Lamb told Hicks the first time they met.

Yards after the catch or YAC is very important for receivers because it can turn a good one into a great one. Lamb's YAC per reception has been 4.2, 5.5, and 4.6 through his first three seasons according to Pro Football Focus

The work Lamb is doing with Hicks can certainly bolster his YAC. As is seen in the video above, Lamb is learning to be patient with his decision-making in terms of when to plant his foot and take off while maintaining his speed.

It's the little nuances of the game that players need to perfect to maximize their talent. Lamb is going the extra mile to work on his craft, and judging by his constant improvement in production each season, 2023 will be his best yet.
