The New Orleans Saints continue to have needs along three defensive line. It is no secret that the NFL Draft seems like a likely route to add talent at defensive tackle and edge rusher for New Orleans.

They'll hope to get their guy late in the first round, whether it be a defensive lineman or not, but the second and third round could be options for selecting a player on the DL, too.

LSU DT Jaquelin Roy seems like a potential target for the Saints in that range. They are hosting the LSU product for a workout before the draft.

Roy is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He is a nose tackle, weighing 305 pounds at 6'3". Roy would make plenty of sense for the Saints on day two of the draft if they don't attack iDL in round one.

They lack upside at nose tackle at the moment, so Roy would fill a hole on the roster as well as provide a great local story for the organization.

Despite getting national attention as a top-100 overall recruit, Roy stayed home to play for LSU after a great career at Baton Rouge's University Lab School. He played in nine games off the bench as a true freshman (18 tackles, four for loss with two sacks) and started once in 13 games in 2021 (30 tackles, six for loss with 1.5 sacks). Roy started 12 of 13 appearances in 2022 (49 tackles, 3.5 for loss) before opting out of the team's bowl game. — by Chad Reuter
