In the blink of an eye, the NFL Draft is now less than three weeks away.

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially signed 14 free agents over the last six weeks, including eight from different clubs.

Now with 68 rostered players, where does that leave the team in terms of salary cap space? A little less than $10 million.

Per OverTheCap.com, Pittsburgh has $9,836,298 in top-51 offseason cap space. That amount ranks 17th in the NFL.

What really matters is effective cap space, which accounts for the incoming rookie class. Pittsburgh's rookie pool is expected to account for approximately $4.4 million in cap space after offsetting veteran minimum deals, which would leave the team with just over $5 million to spare for the remainder of the offseason.

Here's a look at how much each draft pick will take up in cap space for the 2023 season:

Round (Pick)Cap Hit

1 (17)

$2,900,647

2 (32)

2 (49)

Pittsburgh is also still carrying several contracts on the books this year in the form of dead money. Stephon Tuitt is accounting for $4.755 million following his retirement last year, Myles Jack's release is costing them $3.25 million, and Chase Claypool's contract still has another year and $593,025 attached to it.

In total, the Steelers are currently carrying $11,278,814 in dead money for the season.
