After sitting behind Hendon Hooker for most of the last two seasons, Joe Milton is expected to take over as the Tennessee Vols' starting quarterback in 2023.

Five-star phenom Nico Iamaleava looms as a challenger to Milton.

But for now, Milton's experience and seemingly limitless ceiling mean he'll be the guy for the Vols this fall.

Earlier this week, Hooker spoke to Paul Finebaum about Milton and what he expects from his former roommate in 2023.

Hooker made it clear that he believes in Milton's ability to get the job done for the Volunteers.

“Joe Milton is a pure passer of the football, has a rocket for an arm, can also use his legs in the run game,” said Hooker Thursday on The Paul Finebaum Show.“Complete quarterback. "Can be a field general, can be that leader that you need in the huddle, can generate energy on the field off the bench.”

“Whenever you need him to make a play he can do that, and he can also put your offense in great position to win ballgames,” added Hooker. “Great guy and one of my best friends.”

There's a lot of confidence in Milton around Knoxville. The players on the team believe in his ability to take the Vols to the promised land.

A lot will obviously have to go right for Tennessee to achieve their goal — winning a national championship — but Milton has the skill to get the Vols there.
