The Tennessee Vols received some good news on Friday to start the weekend.
And it revolves around recruiting.
The Vols added their first commit to their 2025 recruiting class on Friday.
2025 four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux announced his commitment to Tennessee on Friday afternoon.
Arnoux, 6-foot-1/175 lbs from Alpharetta, GA (the same hometown as former Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs), is ranked by On3 as the No. 23 cornerback in the nation and the No. 20 player in the state of Georgia.
The Georgia native told Rivals.com that one of the main reasons he committed to Tennessee was because of the development he's seen happening in UT's football program. Arnoux also mentioned the Knoxville community as a key reason why he made his pledge to the Vols.
“The development I’ve seen in their program and the community up there and my mind was just stuck on them,” said Arnoux to Rivals.
Arnoux also mentioned that Tennessee's sucess last season was important in his decision because he sees himself at UT for the next four years (which suggests he won't have the transfer portal on his mind).
The talented cornerback committed to the Vols over offers from Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, and Texas A&M, among several others.
