A'doree Jackson has taken steps forward. Cor'Dale Flott or Amani Oruwariye is projected to starting opposite him. Flott is an unproven player, and Oruwariye has bene inconsistent in his career so far.
A veteran starter could make plenty of sense as an addition for New York as free agency winds down.
Marcus Peters is a fit that makes sense for the Giants, according to Jeffri Chadiha. He discussed it earlier today on NFL Now.
He notes that Peters is a proven physical talent in the league and is familiar with the system in New York because of his time with Wink Martindale in Baltimore. Martindale is the defensive coordinator for the Giants now.
New York's secondary struggled at times last season. Peters could provide an energetic, feisty presence to a unit that lacks a bit of that currently.
Plus, he does have ball production in his career. In seven seasons, Peters has recorded 32 interceptions and forced 11 fumbles.
At only 30 years old, Peters could still step in and be a starter instantly for the Giants.
The Giants would need to make a couple of moves to create cap space for Peters, but don't rule it out quite yet.
