The New York Giants are an intriguing team for the first round of this year's NFL Draft. Will they attack offensive line? What about wide receiver or cornerback?
Only time will tell, but they have a plethora of options.
After signing Daniel Jones to a long-term extension to be their quarterback, drafting at least one starting offensive lineman could be in the cards for New York in this draft class.
In a recent 2023 NFL Mock Draft by Nick Baumgardner at The Athletic, the New York Giants selected Florida interior offensive lineman O'Cyrus Torrence.
Torrence is the top interior offensive lineman in this year's draft class. He is getting more buzz as the draft nears, and he is expected to go in the first round at this point.
The massive Torrence earned all-district and all-state honors at St. Helena Central High School in Louisiana and signed with the University of Louisiana to play for the Ragin' Cajuns. He immediately stepped into the starting lineup in Lafayette, beginning 13 of 14 contests at left guard in 2019. Torrence was a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection as a sophomore, when he started all 11 games at right guard. He ascended to first-team All-SBC accolades as a junior, starting 12 games at right guard and missing two due to injury.
Torrence followed his Louisiana head coach, Billy Napier, to Florida for the 2022 season, where he garnered first-team Associated Press All-American honors as well as first-team All-SEC notice for his play in 11 starts at right guard. He opted out of the Las Vegas Bowl, thus finishing his career without giving up a sack. — by Chad Reuter
Getting Torrence at pick 25 would be solid value for the Giants as he would step in to be a starter immediately at a position where New York desperately needs more talent.
The pick may not be too flashy, but it would make plenty of sense for the Giants.
