The Texans have the look of a much-improved team and the 2023 NFL Draft hasn't even happened yet.

After having one of the worst offenses in the league in 2022, the front office has prioritized adding veteran playmakers this off-season.

NFL insider Jeffri Chadiha recently wrote a piece highlighting the players who will benefit the most from offseason moves. Making an appearance on the list is one of the Texans' best players from 2022.

Chadiha lists Dameon Pierce as one of the biggest benefactors of his team's offseason moves.

Pierce had a fantastic start to his rookie campaign but tailed off toward the end and missed the last four games with an injury. It seemed that the large workload took a toll on Pierce as the season went on.

This offseason, the team added Devin Singletary, who should see the field on passing downs. Shaq Mason was also added via trade to beef up the interior offensive line.

It is also assumed that the team will have a new signal caller in 2023. The lack of an effective passing game in 2022 led to a reliance on Pierce. Pierce will still be important in 2023, but will no longer be the only viable playmaker.

Additionally, Robert Woods was brought in on a two-year deal and is one of the best run-blocking receivers in the league.

 Chadiha added the following:

Most importantly, the Texans hired former 49ers defensive coordinator (and former Houston linebacker) DeMeco Ryans as their head coach, and we know how much defensive-minded leaders love running the football. Pierce gained 939 yards in 13 games last season. It's not hard to see him up around the 1,300-yard mark with more help around him and more talent under center.

While some have worried that the Singletary signing will take away from Pierce's value, I don't see it that way. Singletary will be a receiving threat out of the backfield, and Pierce should still get the majority of red-zone carries.

An improved offensive line should also increase Pierce's yards per attempt, which was a mediocre 4.3 in 2022.
