The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to build on what they did in the 2022 NFL Draft. They went and got guys. What exactly does that mean? Well, they got dudes who can play. They got guys who can play key snaps in big games. That's what happened too – they got guys who made winning plays in the Super Bowl and AFC Championship game.
Guys like Isiah Pacheco, the starting running back, Jaylen Watson, and Joshua Williams are all guys who were day-three picks and started at times. Pacheco ended up taking the starting running back spot. Hopefully, this year they get can guys like that.
But, it's just as much about the first few rounds as it is the later rounds, and the Chiefs made some moves there last year too with Skyy Moore, George Karlaftis, and Trent McDuffie are going to be cornerstones on this team for the future. The Chiefs made moves to get those guys, and one NFL Draft analyst thinks the Chiefs could be making some moves in the first round this upcoming draft.
Jason Reid: I have my eye on the Kansas City Chiefs. We saw them trade up for cornerback Trent McDuffie last year (No. 29 to No. 21), and I could see general manager Brett Veach moving up again this year. With 10 draft picks and a roster that doesn't have many open spots, it makes sense if the team sees an opportunity to land an impact player. Kansas City has holes at offensive tackle and edge rusher, two positions that are plentiful in the first round. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs move up from No. 31 into the early 20s for a top-tier prospect at one of those spots.

The Chiefs have always been a team that drafts well and makes good decisions in the draft. Last year was no different, and this draft will likely be the same.
While Reid mentioned the Chiefs could trade up and grab an offensive tackle or edge rusher, I think they could also trade up to grab a receiver. That position isn't as deep in this draft as it had been in years past, and the Chiefs have a need there as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to trade up to grab Quentin Johnson from TCU or even Zay Flowers from Boston College. The Chiefs could get one of the better receivers in the draft and build onto their core.
