Finally, the Seattle Seahawks are addressing one of their primary needs — wide receiver.

With the No. 20 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, Seattle selected Jaxon Smith-Njigba out of Ohio State, addressing their immediate need for a wide receiver late in the first round.

The wide receiver room now looks like D'Wayne Eskridge, Cade Johnson, Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Cody Thompson, Smith-Njigba, and Dareke Young. Smith-Njigba has the potential to be a legit wide receiver No. 3 in the Seahawks' offense that was lacking a viable option at that slot for a few seasons.

Last season, Smith-Njigba was injured and limited to just five catches for 43 yards in three games.

However, in 2021, Smith-Njigba was one of the best wide receivers in the country. He caught 95 passes for 1,606 yards and nine scores.

He is now joining a Seahawks offense that already has Metcalf as a deep threat and Lockett as a security blanket. Smith-Njigba is set to be healthy come the start of training camp, and Seattle's offense will need him.

Smith-Njigba boasts excellent releases, route running, agility, footwork, and lateral quickness. He is great at subtle changes in direction. And he also is an efficient route runner. On paper, he makes sense alongside the receivers already on the roster.

All in all, Seattle still needs to address the defensive line, but adding Smith-Njigba makes the offense just a little more interesting.
