The Indianapolis Colts checked off the biggest item on their to-do list in the first-round of the 2023 NFL Draft: get a quarterback. Anthony Richardson is the signal caller of the future for Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard.

Richardson is a high-upside prospect that gives the Colts a needed boost at the most important position on the roster. The focus now shifts to surrounding Richardson with talent, while also filling key needs.

Indianapolis does just that in this day-two NFL mock draft. In this scenario, the Colts bolster the offense and set a foundation for the pairing of the future in Richardson and Steichen.

Colts' day-two selections

Round two, No. 35 overall: O'Cyrus Torrence, Florida offensive lineman

The Colts open the second-round by using their second selection of the 2023 NFL Draft on offensive line. Steichen and Ballard opt for Florida offensive guard O'Cyrus Torrence, solidifying the interior of the trenches.

Torrence began his collegiate career at Louisiana-Lafayette prior to moving over to Florida. In his career, he did not allow a single sack in 1,501 career pass-blocking snaps. That would be very ideal to add to Indianapolis.

Not to mention, this selection would reunite college teammates Richardson and Torrence. The two know each other well thanks to their time in Gainesville. It wouldn't be a bad idea to pair them back up in the NFL.

Round three, No. 79 overall: Jonathan Mingo, Ole Miss wide receiver

After solidifying the offensive line in round two, the Colts continue to add to the offense in the third-round. This time, Steichen and Ballard select Ole Miss wideout Jonathan Mingo, who is still on the board in this scenario.

Mingo has seen his stock soar as of late, at least in draft media circles. He is a physical wideout that plays so smoothly. He gets open down the field and creates separation in the quick and intermediate game.

Adding a pass catcher like Mingo would improve the Colts' wide receiver corps in a notable way. He would provide Richardson with a reliable target to go-to, while also having some exciting developmental upside.
