The Dallas Cowboys have an excellent defense but they could use some upgrades. Well, All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons is doing his part to make that happen.

Last week, Parsons was asked what he would like for the Cowboys to do in free agency. Although the Cowboys don't have the reputation of doing much in that area, at least not anything on a grand scale due to their frugal spending habits, Parsons let be known that defensive tackle Daron Payne, who has spent his entire five-year career with the Washington Commanders, is undoubtedly a piece the Cowboys should add.

On Monday, Parsons was at it again. Veteran defensive end Calais Campbell, who is currently heading into the last year of his deal with the Baltimore Ravens, expressed his want to play in next season's Super Bowl, and Parsons had some advice for him.

Parsons is known for trying to get players outside of the building to come to the Cowboys. Last March, Parsons did all he could to get edge rusher Von Miller and linebacker Bobby Wagner to Dallas. Also, back in December, he and cornerback Trevon Driggs tried to get Odell Beckham Jr to the Cowboys.

The situation with Campbell is different considering he would have to be released or the Cowboys would have to execute a trade.

Campbell's All-Pro days may be behind him but he's still a force. In 2022, Campbell had 5.5 sacks and quarterback hits, the most he's tallied in each category since his last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019.

The Cowboys' defense finished third in the NFL with 54 sacks in 2022. Campbell won't put the Cowboys over the top and make them Super Bowl contenders, but no team can have too many pass rushers.

NFL free agency is almost here and there will be plenty of wheeling and dealing. The Cowboys' participation in that, or lack thereof will be intriguing to see.
