The New Orleans Saints have a glaring issue when it comes to their roster as currently constructed. If you watch most of the season, then you likely know exactly what I'm talking about.

The Saints defense struggled most of the season, but the more they played, the better they got, as do a lot of defenses. But the Saints' defense still had one problem.

The secondary needs some help, and a lot of it. Sure, they have some great players in the backend, but there is an issue with the secondary. They don't have a ton of depth, or guys that can come in and replicate the pay of starters, I should say, and they don't have much versatility.

The Saints drafted Alontae Taylor from Tennessee last season and he played corner quite a bit this last year. He showed that he can have the potential to be one of the better corners in the NFC if his development comes along.

So, why not add a guy like him, that will only help him, through the draft? The Saints now have the 29th pick in the draft due to the trade with Denver. With that pick, they can get a versatile cornerback in Deonte Banks from Maryland.

Per Pro Football Focus, Banks is one of the most versatile cornerbacks in the upcoming draft. The evaluators at PFF feel he could have a great NFL role playing similar to L'Jarius Sneed, the Chiefs cornerback, who is one of the best in the league.

Banks has a great ability to mirror opponents, and basically, run the route the wide receivers are trying to run. He is a guy that is sticky in coverage, doesn't get lost often, and has great ball skills when it's thrown his way.

So, if he is so good, why will he be available when the Saints draft? His press technique needs some work. But, it is easily fixable.

The guys at PFF think Banks has the potential to be an All-Pro cornerback, which would be perfect for the Saints.
