It is no secret that the New Orleans Saints will be in the running back market during this off-season.

They need to add depth behind Alvin Kamara. Not to mention, Kamara could miss time next season due to his legal situation. It's possible that he is suspended at some point during the season, so they must have a contingency plan in case that happens.

Expect the Saints to explore free agent running back options, but the NFL draft could provide the best options to add talent to the backfield at an affordable price.

In particular, the Saints may want to target a running back prospect late on day two or early on dday three of this year's draft. One prospect at RB makes the most sense for them.

Tulane RB Tyjae Spears is an explosive athlete with plenty of upside, and the Saints could keep him in New Orleans.

Spears was one of the stars of this year's Senior Bowl. His route running and elusiveness were on full display.

It was nothing new for the Tulane RB, though. He was quietly a very solid runner for the Green Wave, even if he didn't get the hype that some other guys got at his position.

He truly broke out this season as a junior.

Spears totaled 1581 rushing yards and 19 rushing TDs. The Tulane RB averaged 6.9 yards per carry. Unbelievable numbers. Through the air, 256 receiving yards and two receiving TDs.

Spears is an absolute competitor, and the Saints could always use more of that. Every team can.

They'll definitely have competition for Spears, but the Saints need to find a way to keep him home.
