The Broncos needed some help very badly in terms of coaching. They had high expectations, and none of those expectations were met. In fact, those expectations were nowhere near met, as the Broncos finished with the fifth-worst record.
The Broncos may have made the right decision. I mean, one Broncos legend seems to think so.
"10," former Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe said when asked how excited he is. "I'm excited because he knows what it takes to win and it's about winning, and he's gonna change, and then, his style of coaching, coaching isn't for everyone, but he's the coach. And so you're gonna have to adapt to what you did in order to fit to what he does. And so I'm very excited because Broncos country, that's what we deserve.
"We demand it. What's been transpiring since they last won the Super Bowl, no playoff appearances, and mediocrity? And sometimes just, the lack of effort, I think, is not acceptable for that region for us, for guys that played for the Broncos, for the fans that root for the Broncos, that's unacceptable. And so, hopefully, this is a sign of things, of great things to come."
If Shannon Sharpe thinks this was the right choice, then it must be. Well, not necessarily, but, if the legends, the guys who won the Super Bowl before with this franchise, approve of the hire, it must mean something.
The Broncos are on their way to getting back to how things used to be, and it seems like everyone is agreeing on the recent hire of the guy who will lead that comeback.
