The Kansas City Chiefs have been to three Super Bowls now in the last four years, and have been a few plays short of making it to five straight. Yet, they have only won one, so they need to add to that this upcoming weekend.

Mahomes is already being considered by many, fans and media, as one of the greatest to ever do it. No one is really saying he is the all-time greatest, as Brady holds that title, but people know he is pretty close. A big reason why is because of how fast he was able to win his first Super Bowl.

That one came within his third overall season, and his second season starting. You could say he was still wet behind the ears when he won that one. He is obviously a lot better now than he was then, and he is a whole lot more humble.

If he wins it, this Super Bowl could feel a whole lot different.

“Yeah, no it’ll be awesome, man," Mahomes said earlier this week. "You get there the first time, and you don’t know what to expect and you’re kind of going through a whirlwind of media days and you have practice but it’s not the normal schedule you usually have and meetings and trying to find time to watch film and everything like that whereas now you have a plan. Chad (Henne) was with me last time, so I have a plan with him already.

"We’re going to be able to go out there and do what we usually do throughout a week with the added stuff that we have to do. It’s nice to have that experience before. I can teach other guys and help them along as well because even though it’s the same team, we have a lot of new players, and so I’m excited to get these guys down there to get that experience and at the end of the day you want to win the game, so I just want to make sure those guys keep that in mind.”

Mahomes is the leader the Chiefs have needed for quite some time before he got there that is. I'm willing to bet he is an even better leader now than he was in 2021. I'm also willing to bet he is much smarter of a player now than he was then.

The way he talks about helping his team in moments like this is exactly what you want to hear. The question was originally asked about how he would feel, and he immediately went to how he would help his teammates.

That is just one of the many things that separate him from the rest. But I think this one will feel a bit different.

This is the first season Mahomes was really ever doubted. He was doubted before this game, he was doubted before the season started, saying they wouldn't make the playoffs without Tyreek Hill.

This one will be much different. I can't wait to see how he will react when that final buzzer sounds. That is if they do win it.
