The Las Vegas Raiders found their quarterback. Okay, I'm only joking, but you can't tell me Jarrett Stidham didn't play his tail off. He may have played a better game last Sunday than Derek Carr has all season, considering the defense Stidham played against.

There was one thing that really surprised a lot of people that Stidham did though. Honestly, not many first-time starters get to do what Stidham did on Sunday.

Stidham had played in 11 games prior to his start against the 49ers, but that was his first career start, yet he was calling some plays that he liked, and it worked.

"[Jarret] signaled some stuff today and created some opportunities for himself, which is great to see," head coach Josh McDaniels said. "But Derek had the same – whoever plays quarterback for us is going to have the same opportunity.

"If they learn the system and understand how to use it, they had the same opportunities. We didn't really call the game radically different today than we would have otherwise. And I thought Jarrett took advantage of the opportunities that were presented to him."

I think for a guy who has never started a game, he did pretty well signaling his own stuff, and his signal calling did pretty well too.

Stidham ended with over 300 passing yards and three touchdowns. He was patient, and he found Adams and Waller for big plays constantly. Stidham did what he had to do to put the team in a position to win, and they could have won the game, easily. However, things happened that still prevented them from winning.

It's fair to say he could still be a candidate as the starting quarterback for next season, even if the Raiders draft a guy this off-season. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is excited to see if he can replicate that play against the Chiefs.
