The Tennessee Vols lost an in-state player to the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday.

Offensive tackle William Parker, a Nashville native, has entered the portal according to On3 Sports.

Parker is a former three-star recruit who signed with the Vols during the 2021 recruiting cycle (he signed before Jeremy Pruitt was fired). He was rated as the No. 33 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 11 player in the state of Tennessee.

The redshirt freshman saw action against Ball State and UT-Martin this season.

This obviously hurts the Vols' offensive line depth, but Parker isn't a player that was expected to play a key role for Tennessee in 2023. He's likely transferring in search of playing time. That's just the reality of college football these days due to the transfer portal.
